Bogota is a place where your exciting journey through Colombia - the second most biodiverse country in the world - begins. I will meet you at the airport of the Colombian capital, so that your first moments in the country are not marred by communication difficulties (for example, taxi drivers here don't speak English), and your journey to the hotel is comfortable and cozy. ✨

Next, we will head to the hotel, where I will help you check-in. The 3* hotel is located in one of the safest neighborhoods in Bogota.

Exploring the capital and testing local coffee ☕️

They say that Colombia is the birthplace of coffee, and it's exquisite. But you have to know the right places! Not all coffee in Colombia is created equal, and to ensure that you don't get disappointed with the main drink of the country, I'll take you to one of the stylish coffee shops in the city. There we can enjoy the first cup of real Colombian coffee, and if you really like it, maybe even a second cup 😊.

A city walk in a fancy resdential areas

If all participants arrive in the morning, we will have time to walk through the city's prestigious and green neighborhoods 🌿 I will guide you through the coziest streets of the city so that you can feel the atmosphere of the place you have arrived in.

Dinner, acquintance with the members of our adventurous team

In the evening, we will visit one of the cozy restaurants in the city with international cuisine. It will be a gradual introduction to the Colombian culture 🧡 We'll also have a chance to get to know each other and bond as a group.

Hiking in Paramo

We will start our introduction to Colombian nature early in the morning with a mountain trekking through the unique ecosystem of Páramo. Páramo can only be found in certain countries of South America, and you won't see these types of mountains anywhere else. Here you will see olive-colored landscapes, unusual frailejón plants with velvety leaves, and a soft carpet of moss under your feet (yes, it can be quite damp here 💦). Páramo plays a crucial role in providing water to Colombian cities. During the trekking, we will learn why it is important to preserve this ecosystem and hear local legends about the indigenous people who once lived here - the Muisca. Trekking duration: ~9 km. Maximum altitude: up to 4000 m.

After the trekking, we will return to the hotel in Bogotá, relax, and then head out for dinner.

Flight from Bogota to Eje Cafetero

We are heading to the heart of Colombia's coffee region - the place where high-quality Colombian coffee is grown. This region is a favorite vacation spot for locals. The flight from Bogota will take about an hour.

Road to Salento 🚗

Next, we will travel to the town of Salento by transfer. The journey will also take about an hour.

Coffee farm tour ☕️

We will take colorful Willys Jeeps to visit a coffee plantation near the town of Salento 🛻 During the tour, we will learn the details of the coffee growing process and taste the drink. A coffee farm or finca as it is called in Colombia is not only interesting, but a beautiful place to visit: green hills with coffee plants, local fruits, and bright flowers!

City walk in Salento and free time to buy coffee and souvenirs

Salento is a small provincial town with colorful houses, a charming square with tropical plants, and colorful farmers-rancheros walking around in rubber boots and plaid shirts. After the coffee farm, we will have free time to fully enjoy the atmosphere of the town: the unhurried flow of life and rural charm.

We will have the chance to try the main local dish - river trout, prepared according to the traditional Colombian recipe.

We'll stay at night in the beautiful Salento.

Hiking through the Cocora Valley

The Cocora Valley is one of the most picturesque places in the country and its hallmark. We will depart directly from the hotel to the start of the route on Willy's jeeps. Here we will have a walk among the tallest palms in the world against the backdrop of green hills, see mist-covered mountains, colorful hummingbirds within arm's reach, a humid tropical forest, and a mountain river with crystal clear water. Dictance: 12 km, elevation gain ~1000 m.

After another eventful day filled with experiences, we will spend the night again in Salento.

Transfer from Salento to Pereira airport

In the morning, we will head to Pereira, another city in the Coffee Triangle. The travel time will be approximately 1 hour.

Flight to Medellin

Forget about the criminal past of Pablo Escobar’s times, now Medellin is a tropical paradise surrounded by lush vegetation, a favorite place for expats. Why? Today we will see it.

Walk through La Frontera park

La Frontera Park is a popular destination for nature lovers and hikers in Medellin. The park is located on the eastern outskirts of the city and offers a scenic trail that winds through the lush green forests and hills of the Aburrá Valley 🌿

A fancy residential area

We'll walk through a fancy residential area that shows us the beauty of living in this city 🛖🌿

The dirty city center with famous sculptures 🗿

We'll walk through the noisy and dirty city center of Medellin with the sculptures of the most prominent Colombian artist Fernando Botero 👨🏻‍🎨 Here we'll see the other side of Medellin: with annoying street vendors, streets that can be dirty and homeless people. But that will help us to see the contrasts of this city which is important for its understanding. Don't worry! Though this place doesn't look nice, tourists are out of danger here 🚸

Visit to Botanical Garden of Medellin 🎋

The Botanical Garden of Medellin is a beautiful public park located in the heart of the city. It has a wide variety of plants and flowers, as well as several water features and walking paths 🌳 🥾 It will make us feel as if we were in a tropical rainforest!

To enjoy panoramic views of Medellin and see its poorest areas: don't forget that it is a city of contrasts 💚💜

Dinner at fancy Provenza area 🌟

Provenza area is a trendy area located in the El Poblado district of Medellin. It is known for its vibrant nightlife, and a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Provenza is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike and is often considered one of the most stylish and cosmopolitan neighborhoods in Medellin! We'll definitely have dinner there and get acquainted with the locals and cuisine 😍

Road to Guatape

Today we’ll visit Guatape, the most colorful city in Colombia! Guatape is a small town located in the Antioquia Department of Colombia, about 2 hours away from Medellin (depending on the road condition). The town is known for its colorful buildings, and cobblestone streets, also has a lively central plaza, numerous restaurants, and souvenir shops selling traditional crafts and souvenirs.

Climb to El Peñón rock

We will climb 700 steps to El Peñón rock, which offers stunning views of the lake! El Peñón de Guatapé, also known as simply La Piedra or The Rock, is a large natural rock formation located in Guatapé, Colombia. It stands at a height of 220 meters! We can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape!

Boat ride

Water and wind- rather good combination, we are here to feel it.

Helicopter ride

To enjoy aerial views of the lake and the Rock! It is optional and not included in the price of the tour.

A walk in Guatape

Each house here is decorated with zocalos – colorful images telling the story of the town’s past and present.

We can enjoy the wild beauty of the Colombian Pacific Coast where the jungle meets the ocean 🌴 🌊

Note that accommodation here is very basic, as it is not a super touristic area and also the poorest region in Colombia.

Whalewatching tour

Thousands of humpback whales begin to arrive during the months of May and June, traveling 1,300 kilometers of the Pacific coast during their stay in Colombia, until the end of November. They come looking for warmer waters to mate and give birth to their babies which happens only in the most privileged places in the world! We'll have the opportunity to observe them having a boat trip! 🐳 Don`t forget your camera!

Utria National Park

We'll see a series of mountainous hills covered with exuberant tropical forests. We can swim in Playa Blanca, the only white sand beach in the Chocó department. Depending on weather and sea conditions the activities can be changed.

One more day of enjoying natural wild beauty of Colombia. Because a couple of hours is for sure not enough for this!

El Almejal Nature Reserve

Prepare to enjoy the spectacular interior landscape of the jungle and meet unique species of animals and plants 🎋🦤 While we walk in the middle of selva we'll find plants from the dinosaur's epoch, walking trees, and red flowers that look like sensual lips 🌺 During our walk, we will be accompanied by the song of the parrots, toucans, orioles, and woodpeckers. In addition, our guides will tell us interesting facts about the different adaptation mechanisms and survival strategies of the species! The route is approximately 1 km and takes approximately 2 hours and a half. Can be substituted by other activity, but still wild and intersting.
