A production of Kirill & Friends,, under the artistic direction of Kirill Serebrennikov, with text by Mikhail Durnenkov — present the theatrical performance Apocalypse Tomorrow. What would you do just before the end of the world? What would you think? Who would you call? What problems would you try to solve? And whom would you ask for forgiveness from? Who would you try to save? Maybe just yourself? So many questions, so little time. Six strangers are stuck together, awaiting the inevitable. They differ in age, nationality, and social status. By turns scared and defenseless, whimsical and ridiculous, determined and stubborn — and, confronted with their own imminent death, they draw closer to each other. For their new piece, Apocalypse Tomorrow, director Evgeny Kulagin and choreographer Ivan Estegneev gather a diverse team of German, Russian, French, and American artists. The examination of their personal stories is the central motif of this production — stories of decisions and mistakes made, roads taken or abandoned, fears and traumas hidden deep inside. Developed collectively through improvisation and experimentation, the reflections of the artistic team and ensemble on time, loss, and hope flow into the piece and merge into a broad canvas of expressive forms — text, dramatic theater, dance, and music. The result is an evening in the language of physical theater: a comic, dramatic, tragic, and lyrical story of the last days before the apocalypse.
